Pokémon Reprints 2026: What Past Reprints Did to Sealed Prices

Pokémon is reprinting, and it has said so. What is not confirmed is the rumoured Destined Rivals reprint, yet its price has already fallen almost by half, more than any other sealed product we track. We went back to the reprints and restocks we can date, from Hidden Fates to Prismatic Evolutions, and checked what each one did to the price of the box.

▸ POKÉMON REPRINTS 2026 · THE SHORT ANSWER

Yes, Pokémon is reprinting. The Pokémon Company has said since January 2025 that it prints "at maximum capacity" and "will continue to reprint impacted products", and Prismatic Evolutions has been reprinted through 2026.

What is not confirmed is the rumoured Destined Rivals reprint, and its size. The unit counts going around trace back to influencers, not to Pokémon or its distributors.

What the prices say. Destined Rivals has already fallen 48% on the talk alone. In the past reprints we can date, the extra product held the price down while it was in stores, for months in one case and years in others. None stayed down.

Is Pokémon reprinting in 2026? What is actually confirmed

Three things are on the record, all from The Pokémon Company itself.

On 15 January 2025, two days before Prismatic Evolutions launched, the company said it was "actively working to print more of the impacted Pokémon TCG products as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity". It was the first time it had confirmed a reprint before a set was even out.

On 27 March 2025 it went further, in a statement on pokemon.com: "we are maximizing production to increase product availability upon release, and we will continue to reprint impacted products."

And in May 2026, reports citing the company's figures put production at over 85 billion cards between March 2025 and March 2026, about 10 billion more than the year before.

Everything else is reported, not announced. The Destined Rivals reprint has been expected since early August, when a commentator claimed "more than 25,000 booster boxes" and "hundreds of thousands" of Elite Trainer Boxes were on the way. The bigger numbers that followed, one million units to big-box stores and two million through Costco and Sam's Club, have no named source, and the two million figure was first reported for Prismatic Evolutions, not Destined Rivals. None of that means a reprint is not coming. It means nobody outside Pokémon and its printers knows its size.

A note on words, because the two get mixed up. A reprint is Pokémon printing more. A restock is product coming back onto store shelves, from a reprint or from stock distributors already held. Pokémon does not publish print runs, so most collectors only ever see a reprint as a restock.

Destined Rivals prices are already falling

Whatever the reprint turns out to be, the market has priced some of it in. The Destined Rivals Elite Trainer Box was $349.99 before release in March 2025, bottomed at $80.99 on 13 June 2025, nearly tripled to $224.95 by 30 March 2026, and is $116.18 today. The booster box fell from $596.22 on 29 April to $414.47.

The booster box fell 30.5% from $596.22 to $414.47. No reprint has been confirmed by The Pokémon Company.

The products with reprint talk fell the most

Destined Rivals did not fall alone. Every sealed product we follow is below its 2026 high, so part of the drop is the whole market cooling this summer. The reprint effect shows in who fell most: the two products with active reprint talk, Destined Rivals (-48.4%) and Prismatic Evolutions (-34.0%). Most sets nobody expects back fell by a tenth or less: Evolving Skies -10.7%, Paldean Fates -9.8%, Crown Zenith -8.7%, Shining Fates -4.1%, Surging Sparks -2.0%, Hidden Fates -0.3%.

Destined Rivals ETB -48.4%; Prismatic Evolutions ETB -34.0%; 151 ETB -26.8%; Celebrations ETB -25.8%; Evolving Skies booster box -10.7%; Paldean Fates ETB -9.8%; Crown Zenith ETB -8.7%; Shining Fates ETB -4.1%; Surging Sparks booster box -2.0%; Hidden Fates ETB -0.3%. The two products with active reprint talk, Destined Rivals and Prismatic Evolutions, fell the most.

The exceptions are 151 (-26.8%) and Celebrations (-25.8%). 151 carries more reprint speculation than any other older set. Celebrations now shares its shelf with a new anniversary set, the 30th Celebration, which launched on 16 September.

What past reprints did to the price

Three past cases have a date we can check the price against.

Prismatic Evolutions, reprinted in 2025. The Pokémon Company said on 15 January 2025 that it was printing more "at maximum capacity", and on 27 March that it would "continue to reprint impacted products". The reprinted stock reached stores in May: GameStop restocked the Elite Trainer Box on 10 May and the Tech Sticker Collections on 24 May. In our daily series the Elite Trainer Box was $135.79 on 1 April 2025, $118.06 on 1 May, and $95.90 on 9 June, a fall of 29% across the restock window. It did not stay there: $212.83 on 23 March 2026, and $140.40 today, with restocks still running, including a Sam's Club drop in May 2026 and a Walmart drawing in late August.

After The Pokémon Company said it was printing more at 'maximum capacity' (15 January 2025) and would 'continue to reprint impacted products' (27 March 2025), and the reprinted stock reached GameStop in May 2025, it fell from $135.79 on 1 April 2025 to $95.90 on 09 June 2025, down 29%, then rose to $212.83 on 23 March 2026 and was $140.40 on 25 September 2026.

Hidden Fates, reprinted in 2020. Distributors received a third print run of the Hidden Fates Elite Trainer Box in December 2020. With that extra supply out, the box traded between $137 and $186 from 2022 to late 2024, close to three years. It is $564.69 today.

Celebrations, restocked in 2021. Walmart was still restocking the Celebrations Elite Trainer Box at about $50 in November and December 2021. From April 2022 to October 2024 it traded between $54 and $81. It is $359.35 today.

In all three, the extra product held the price down while it was in stores. None of them stayed down once it sold through. One caution: the Hidden Fates and Celebrations climbs came mostly in 2025, when sealed Pokémon rose across the board, so part of each rise is a bigger market, not only the end of the reprint.

Are Pokémon reprints worth less?

A reprinted booster box is the same product as the first run, with the same cards inside, so it is not worth less for being a reprint. What lowers the price is the extra supply, and only while it is on sale. Anniversary reprint cards, like the 30th Celebration Classic Collection, are a different thing: new cards with their own stamp and their own price.

Will Pokémon reprint 151 or Evolving Skies?

There is no announcement for either, and these are two of the most searched reprint questions.

Evolving Skies belongs to the Sword & Shield era, which ended in 2023, and we found no documented English reprint of a Sword & Shield set since.

151 is closer. A 151 Zapdos ex Box was re-released at GameStop in May 2025, and the Japanese version of the set has been reprinted twice. That partial re-release did not dent the main box: the 151 Elite Trainer Box went from $211.60 on 20 April 2025 to $245.94 on 22 June. No English set reprint has been announced.

Our read

In every reprint we can date, the extra product held the price down for as long as it was on shelves: a 29% dip for a few months with Prismatic Evolutions, close to three years of flat prices for Hidden Fates, and close to three years near its retail price for Celebrations. In all three the price came back once it sold through.

2026 has two differences. Production is at a record, over 85 billion cards in a year, so a reprint now can be much larger than before. And the reprint most in the news, Destined Rivals, is still unconfirmed, while its price has already fallen 48%. Part of that drop is the whole market cooling. Part of it is the reprint expectation itself, and if the reprint turns out smaller than the rumours, that part has less to justify it.

What history does not show is a reprint that kept a popular box down for good.

Methodology. Sealed prices from 8 February 2024 are TCGinvest's own daily series of TCGplayer market prices in US dollars; earlier prices are monthly PriceCharting medians. A "2026 peak" is the highest daily market price between 1 January and 25 September 2026. Our daily series has no readings between 30 April and 9 July 2026; PriceCharting's May and June medians for every product are below the 2026 peaks quoted. The Pokémon Company does not publish print-run dates, so past cases are limited to reprints and restocks with a public date. Reprint unit counts in circulation are reported as unconfirmed where no primary source exists.
