Refund Policy

How subscription billing works, when and how you can cancel, when you are entitled to a refund, and how to contact us. This page applies to all paid Pro subscriptions and is governed by Maltese law.

01Overview

TCGinvest offers a subscription product (Pro tier) with two billing options: monthly and annual. This page explains how billing works, how to cancel, how the EU statutory cooling-off period applies, and the circumstances under which we will issue a refund outside that statutory window.

Subscription billing and invoicing are handled by Polar Software Inc., our Merchant-of-Record, with Stripe Inc. as the underlying payment processor (PCI-DSS Level 1). Polar is the seller of record for tax and consumer-protection purposes; your card statement will show a charge from Polar.sh on behalf of TCGinvest. This page describes TCGinvest's policy; Polar's own terms apply to the payment relationship itself and are available at polar.sh/legal/terms.

02Plans and billing cadence

The current Pro tier plans are:

All prices are quoted in EUR and are inclusive of any applicable VAT. The exact VAT amount and total payable in your local currency are displayed at checkout before you confirm payment. Polar determines the applicable VAT based on your billing country and applies it automatically.

A reminder email is sent before each renewal (Polar handles the delivery). You can change between Monthly and Annual at any time from the Manage subscription link in your account settings; the change takes effect at your next renewal.

03How to cancel

You can cancel at any time, without penalty or fees, from:

  • The Manage subscription link in the site footer, which opens the Polar Customer Portal where the cancel button is one click. Enter the email you subscribed with — Polar sends a one-time login link.
  • Email to [email protected] if you cannot access the portal for any reason — include the email address used for the subscription and we will process the cancellation on your behalf.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period. You retain full access to Pro features until that date. No further charges will be made after cancellation. We do not require a reason and we do not run cancellation surveys or retention flows; the cancel button is the cancel button.

04EU 14-day right of withdrawal

As an EU-based consumer, you have a statutory right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 calendar days of the original purchase date, without giving any reason, under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU). This right applies to your first purchase of a TCGinvest subscription. It does not apply to subsequent automatic renewals (those have their own cancellation rules above and the refund policy in the next section).

How to exercise this right. Email [email protected] within 14 days of your initial subscription date with the subject line "14-day withdrawal request", including the email address used for the subscription. We will refund your purchase in full within 14 days of receiving the request, using the same payment method used for the original charge.

Important. When you subscribe, you agree that we begin providing the service immediately. Under the Directive, where the service is fully performed during the 14-day period with your express prior consent, the right of withdrawal can be limited. We do not apply that limitation: a full refund inside the 14-day window is available regardless of usage, as a goodwill policy beyond the legal minimum.

05Refunds outside the 14-day window

Outside the 14-day statutory window, TCGinvest's refund policy is as follows:

  • Pro Monthly — non-refundable once the 14-day window has expired. You can cancel at any time to stop future charges; you retain access until the end of your current paid month.
  • Pro Annual within the first 30 days — full refund on request, no questions asked. This is a goodwill extension on top of the 14-day statutory right.
  • Pro Annual after the first 30 days — we will consider pro-rated refunds for the unused portion of the year on a case-by-case basis. Reasonable requests (extended illness, account abuse, sustained product unavailability on our side) are typically granted. We are not obliged to issue a pro-rated refund in all cases.
  • Auto-renewal charges — if you forgot to cancel before an auto-renewal date and contact us within 7 days of the charge having been made, we will refund the renewal in full and cancel the subscription. This is a courtesy policy not a legal obligation; please cancel before the renewal date where possible.

Refunds are processed by Polar on our authorisation and appear on your card statement within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.

06Failed payments and lapsed subscriptions

If a renewal payment fails (expired card, insufficient funds, bank decline), Polar will retry the charge automatically over a short retry window and notify you by email. During the retry window your Pro access remains active. If the charge ultimately fails, your subscription will lapse and your account reverts to the Free tier. You can re-subscribe at any time from the upgrade page; your watchlist, portfolio, and account settings are preserved.

You can update your payment method at any time from the Manage subscription link in your account settings (Polar Customer Portal).

07Price changes

If we change the price of an existing plan, we will notify current subscribers by email at least 30 days in advance of the change taking effect. The new price only applies at your next renewal date — your current paid period is honoured at the price you originally agreed to. If you do not wish to renew at the new price, you can cancel without penalty before the renewal date.

08Disputes and chargebacks

If you are unhappy with a charge or a refund decision, please email [email protected] before filing a chargeback with your bank. We respond to all billing-related emails within two working days and we would rather resolve a complaint directly than through the card network.

Filing a chargeback without first attempting resolution may result in your TCGinvest account being suspended pending investigation, and a fraudulent chargeback may be referred to the relevant consumer authority. We will always work in good faith to find a fair outcome.
